Ticker Symbols

Ticker Symbols are name abbreviations assigned to publicly traded companies.  For example, the ticker symbol for Starbucks is SBUX.

You can search databases using ticker symbols to get news, reports, and articles about a specific company.  The best databases to search are

Finding Company Ticker Symbols

An easy way to get started finding the ticker symbol for a company's stock is to use Google.  Entering the company's name and stock will often find the ticker symbol.  See the examples below.
