It's best to check with your instructor or advisor if you have a specific copyright question. Some basic guidelines to follow when using material you did not create:

  • Limit the use of content in your presentation to the shortest amount needed to make your point. Always give credit to the creator of the content.
  • Always get permission from the copyright holder before you reproduce items like survey instruments in the appendix of your thesis; if you can't get permission do not use the content.
