Communication

Welcome to the Communication LibGuide!

Here you'll find a variety of resources about communication including search tools, books, databases Alverno subscribes to, open access (free for everyone) databases and journals, and websites.

Finding Books

Search for books and other items held at Alverno & other SWITCH libraries using the red TOPCAT search box found on the library's webpage or the TOPCAT search box found below. Search for eBooks using the blue eBook Central search box below.

Basic Search Tools

Finding Journal Articles

  • To find articles on a topic: Visit the library's Databases page and select Communication. Search for articles in any of the selected databases.
  • To find an article when you have a citation: Visit the library's webpage and select the Google Scholar link or use the Google Scholar search box above to search the contents of Alverno Library's databases as well as the "free" web. Enter the article title into the Google Scholar search box and look for the full text links on the right side of the page. Not finding what you need? Use TOPCAT, or Interlibrary Loan to obtain a copy of your article.

Citing in APA 7

NoodleTools helps create accurate citations, reference lists, and annotated bibliographies. For best results, use it in conjugation with the APA manual or the APA Style website.
